Tile Selection & Wall Application

• Client selected a blue-grey 3x12 wall tile for use in the shower area and to potentially continue onto the vanity wall, creating a cohesive and extended visual flow.

• Agreed to move forward with renderings to explore layout possibilities:

  • 3 render options showing the wall tile fully installed across the shower and vanity areas.

  • 1 render option showing the wall tile only going up to half height as a design alternative.

Flooring Direction

• Flooring must flow seamlessly from the bathroom into the rest of the home.

• Two wood-look porcelain tiles under consideration:

  • One with warm undertones.

  • One with neutral-grey undertones.

• Both will be mocked up in renders to evaluate compatibility with the selected blue-grey wall tile.

Shower Features & Functionality

• Built-in bench discussed as optional.

• Shower niche will likely be lined using leftover stone from the vanity slab, offering continuity in materials and a premium look.

• Clients expressed interest in a seamless shower transition:

  • Need to consult contractor on feasibility, installation impact (especially with planned mosaic tile), and overall cost implications.

Window Placement & Privacy

• Client open to incorporating a window for natural light:

  • Vertical orientation for a modern, sleek appearance; would require tempered privacy glass.

  • Horizontal orientation (placed above eye level) also acceptable and would not require privacy glass.

• Visual references to be provided in follow-up renderings or sketches to help inform the final decision.

Next Steps

Contractor Coordination

• Requesting pricing and installation considerations for seamless shower option.

• Confirming final layout constraints around the niche, bench, and any window placement.

• Need to confirm available slab options for the vanity and check for any potential for using leftover slab material in the shower niche.

Design Development

Renderings in progress:

• Full Wall Tile (Shower + Vanity) with Neutral Floor Tile: Featuring the niche and no bench for a clean, streamlined look.

• Half Wall Tile (Shower) with Warm Floor Tile: Includes the niche and an optional bench to show both layout options.

• Shower and Vanity Layout with Window Options: Showcasing either vertical or horizontal window placement, integrated with the tile selections and bench/niche configurations.

Materials Planning

• Vanity slab selected with the intent to reuse remnants inside the shower niche.

• Final material selections need to be confirmed for pricing and availability prior to placing orders.
